My Real Secret to My Flame CG

Behold!!! My actual secret to my flame-wielding CG arts! Look down there... is that a scribble or a flame? Yep, it's a scribble!!!

This is actually from a work I did on a random basis. As you guys can see my flames in CG were all originated from such a simple doodle. How do I turn them into flames? 'Smudge' tool of course. Try 'em out and you'll know how I do it. I think intermediates and pros already know this, whereas I'm just an amateur playing with this technique over and over.
